Sax-a-Boom is a children's toy instrument that is frequently adopted by Jack Black at live Tenacious D concerts. It resembles a saxophone, and has a musical loop on each of its eight buttons.

It is now discontinued, but it was designed by Shoot the Moon II LLC and manufactured by DSI Toys Inc in the late 1990s. Despite being branded as "Kawasaki," the toy has nothing to do with the Kawasaki Motors Corp. DSI Toys held the official license to produce toy vehicles with Kawasaki branding on them, and, extended this across many of their other toys.

The Sax-a-Boom was released as part of the Kawasaki Rockers Band.

Trivia

  • Black also played the toy guitar from the Kawasaki Rockers Band assortment on stage in the 1990s as well, though only the Sax-a-Boom continued.
  • Following Black's appearance on Jimmy Fallon in 2018, the Sax-a-Boom has become highly collectable and rare.
